Safe house
The safe house is in an undisclosed location ensuring it remains a SAFE HAVEN for women and children to always be able to gain access.
It is a supportive home environment which is fully staffed 24 hours a day. The wrap around support consists of support workers (including overnight).
We are a Christian organisation so our ethos is encompassed by this, therefore our support is delivered in this way, to anyone needing support regardless of religion.
Security will be provided, by way of camera systems running 24 hours a day as well as a night guard.
We will:
deliver talking therapies
teach interventions and living skills
Cook together to provide
cooking classes
nutrition information sessions
having a balanced diet
healthy living on a budget.
We plan to:
Encourage peer support
Have a nanny on site for women looking for work
Provide lessons in horticulture to learn how to plant and look after vegetables.
Explore other skills to improve chances of moving on from us at a steady pace
THE DAY SERVICES
Gender specific services.
Victim Support for FEMALES unable to attend the refuge.
Victim Support for MALES.
Treatments for couples wishing to reconcile
Support for perpetrators at a separate location, wishing to learn new skills on how to manage anger issues and change their regular abusive habits.
Phone, online and text facility for people unable to attend in person.
There will be group sessions and activities to encourag peer support.
EDUCATION AND community outreach
This is a programme set to run between 6 to 8 weeks. We hope to go into secondary schools and into the community on outreach. Our Christian ethos informs all of our awareness and education programmes.
